New Music | Madonna - Give Me All Your Luv
Madonna - Give Me All Your Luv (2011)
"Maybe you'll do fine as long as you don't lie to me and pretend to be what you're not. Don't play those stupid games 'cause I'm a different kind of girl. Every record sounds the Same. You gotta step into my world."
Song is disgustingly catchy.

Lovin The Crew | Par-City | Civilized Sessions Vol. 1
My boys, Par-City, dropped their 6th project "Civilized Sessions Volume 1".
3 a.m., December 2, 2011, I'm talking to Ronnie (Gif) about his thoughts on the music industry, moving forward as an artist, and finding the right balance between the past, the present, and classic sounds.
"I'm trying to push forward at the same time and I'm trying to do better. That's really what it's about. Doing better."
Ronnie sent me his verse to the song "Go Home" a while back and I immediately fell in love with it. Very honest. Very Melodic.
"...[that] move against you as soon as you don't have the juice within you. I don't think I have it in me to continue. I wanna go home."

54th Annual Grammys | Adele...
Adele - Chasing Pavements (2008)
"I build myself up and fly around in circles, waiting, as my heart drops and my back begins to tingle. Finally, could this be it or should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements even if it leads no where? Would it be a waste even if I knew my place. Should I leave it there?"
But, she's been fly.

You Forced It | NY Mag - Rihanna & Drake
NonStop Pop Machines : Rihanna keeps making music so you’ll not stop thinking about her; Drake, because he can’t stop thinking about himself.
Drake’s critics might call his approach overemotional, sad-sack, or wimpy, but his version of masculinity is simple, and can be observed anywhere young men are hitting on people: First you act grave and sensitive; then you convey how weighty and fraught with complexity your life is; then you chin up and demonstrate how stoic and manly you are about it.
Wait. What? I guess. A little forced.

PBS Coverage: The Roots' New Album - Undun
The Legendary Roots is dropping their first concept album entitled "Undun" next Tuesday. It sounds beautiful and very needed. The Roots' gives a better live performance than ANY pop artist can deliver. Make sure you listen to the album.
Listen to the album here...
The Roots have been together for 25 years. How has the band evolved since 1987?
Well, the Roots in terms of Black Thought [Tariq Trotter] being Mick Jagger and me being Keith Richards minus the narcotics, yeah! Tariq and I met and started a group, the Square Roots, in '87. The Roots and the concept that you know it as today really came to life in 1992.
It's kind of funny because you learn something every day. I'll say that one of the strangest lessons as far as our maturity is concerned [was] making the "undun" record, because it's narrative specific and requires very strict concentration. I just knew for a fact that this album was going to be almost impossible. The reason why we haven't done anything of this level [before] is because I just knew it's easier said than done. You have to think it out almost like a screenplay. You've got to write an outline and then you've got to figure out how to divide the storyline from A to Z. One of the most amazing things is that every verse in this record has taken at least eight to 10 rewrites. Tariq was ready to kill somebody after the fifth rewrite of a particular verse! Now imagine having to rewrite something three times for a full song. And we are just talking about one verse. Every verse on this record has at least 10 to 15 rewrites, so that takes a major amount of concentration.

Frank Ocean - Dying For Your Love (2011)
"Do you remember that October night? That swinging knife? I almost lost my life. Called myself being a hero. Trying to guard your heart, no matter how hard I fought, it was over before it started. I thought that we were on the same side of the battle. I'm on the front line of disaster, now. I'll make sense of, we're not together, I guess where we're at doesn't matter.
You have me dying every night, just because. You have me fighting every night to prove my love. We never get enough. I'm fighting in the club. I'm dying for your love. I don't know what you want. You got me fighting every night to prove my love.
All I ever did was, just try to play my part--tell me that I'm wrong."

For Old Times Sake | Drake's 'Take Care' Leaks
"I am not sure if the album leaked. But if it did thank god it doesn't happen a month early anymore. Listen, enjoy it, buy it if you like it...and take care until next time."
Ol' Boy's album leaked. Suprise. Some things never change. The album sounds predictable but I'm sure a couple of runs over, it'll become disgustingly impossible to turn off. Who can blame him? That's the formula to having multiple songs at the top of multiple charts and unreasonable amounts of radio play.
Still ride with Jimmy through whatever, though. Shout out to 'Room For Improvement'.
Drake - We'll Be Fine (2011)
"Never thoughts of suicide. I'm too alive. But I still treat it like it's do or die. Even though dying isn't in the plans. But neither was making it, and here I am.

Tragedy | Rihanna's Alcoholism
Rihanna has cancelled two performances in Sweden and ended up in the hospital earlier in the week due to the flu. Last night, the reason behind the cancellation was extreme fatigue but Rihanna's doctors are more concerned with her lifestyle choices. Doctors worry that excesive drinking, partying, exhausting performances, and extended studio hours may give Rihanna much more than the flu.
An insider from Rhi's camp said in reference to last night,"She was so ill. She could barely stand up. She was pushing herself to do the show, but she couldn't do it in the end. At the Globe Rihanna was close to passing out. It got serious. She couldn't even get up to leave. So she slept in her dressing room until about half an hour after midnight and then they helped her out to the car and back to her hotel."
Tragedy.
